Mr. President,
A man of faith that's what you are all right and your actions prove it. I have seen the light myself, so I see the basis of your recent decision to reduce the budget of government-funded research on fuel efficiency. It is in the Bible.
John 2:1-11
2:1 On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. 2:2 Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 2:3 When the wine gave out, the mother of Jesus said to him, "They have no wine." 2:4 And Jesus said to her, "Woman, what concern is that to you and to me? It just goes to show you somehow your God can and will provide us with oil just like he did at the wedding in Cana except he will turn water into oil not wine. This is what he told you right?

You believe God will soon change a considerable amount of our polluted water with high concentrations of mercury into high grade sweet crude Texas Tea.

Everything will be as it should be, sayeth your lord.

Since God will do this soon you have all the moral justification to dump some of the most efficient oil replacement technologies programs the government ever had.

According to a Christian Science Monitor article you just cut more than a dozen efficiency improvement projects.

I could see trimming the budget on obviously wasteful adventures, but these programs are not wasteful. One US Energy Department program developed a technology which saved the country 122 million barrels of oil worth $9 billion in 2004. Proponents claim this small department saves the nation $7 for every dollar it spends. So how do you rationalize cutting this program by 33 per cent?

I have to believe your God's will is involved here.

This is one of a handful of energy-efficient projects that you plan to trim by $ 115 million. "Tough choices had to be made, and we had to realign priorities," writes Christina Kielich, a DOE spokeswoman in an e-mail. "Some programs within the energy- efficiency budget have reached a point to be considered mature technologies" that require less funding.

Another energy-efficiency program to be cut is the "Heavy Vehicle Propulsion and Ancillary Subsystems." It is a fancy name for a simple idea; develop a means to improve the fuel efficiency of large trucks. All the money for this program was eliminated in your 2007 budget request.

The latest Energy Department's you proposed for 2007 budget will cut $152 million from this year's budget for the Department of Energy Industrial Technologies Program.

The argument you present is that the private sector should handle these programs, not the government. Jerry Taylor, director of natural resource studies for the Cato Institute claims "These are subsidies that qualify as corporate welfare."

Well hell we can't have corporate welfare, farm subsidies well ok, oil company incentives well maybe, but by God we cannot and will not provide research for improving gas milage or reduce our dependence on oil, that's interfering with God's work!

If you extend this logic to other government programs private enterprise should take over all government research. I am surprised you didn't say the church, and other charities should also take over this responsibility since the lord will provide us our oil soon it might be the right hook.

Note: If you publicize the water into oil prophecy you can also bring in your hard-core bible-thumpers.

If I were a suspicious person, I would think you are killing proven oil-saving programs to defer any real improvements while maximizing oil company profits. I know; I'm going to burn in hell.

What have we learned?

Mr. President,
We have a saying in our house when someone does something dumb like tripping over their own feet. Immediately, after it is apparent the person is OK, and bones aren't protruding through the skin anywhere, someone invariably asks, "What did we learn?"

It is literally adding an insult to injury for the embarrassed, not-so-sure footed victim, but it is also evokes laughter which helps bring the adrenaline levels down a notch after watching a family member come perilously close to physical injury.

As parents we try to explain potential dangers to our children hoping they could avoid the painful consequences. But, as much as we try to protect our young there are somethings they just have to learn by themselves. We only hope they can walk away from whatever painful consequence may befall them; as a result. It is one of those times I initiated the smart-ass comment into our family's vocabulary.

If the dog snaps at your ankle and you become startled and cry after you were told not to go near it you would hear "What did we learn." Today no one in our family is safe. My children often take great glee in administering this sarcastic barb my way so often that I believe I hold the family record.

There is a point here other then I am clumsier than ever. Everyone makes mistakes, BFD (Big F__Deal). If we can walk away from them in one piece we should learn from the experience; we should learn from every stupid thing we do.

If we are incapable of learning we should be put away to keep from harming ourself or others.

Someone once told me the classic definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result each time.

I doubt that the field of psychology would accept such a simplistic test, but it sounds right.

Have you noticed you seem follow the same course of action over and over again and then you seem disappointed and surprised when things don't work out.

You've raped every major agency in your fanatical pursuit to demand every department support your ideology through their decisions. Many competent career personnel were fired or quit in disgust. Losing career people was tough enough, but you thoroughly weakened each agency when you installed Bush-loyalists in every government agency regardless of their qualifications.

Over the years, a steady barrage of world events was bound to show how dangerously ill-chosen these people were when the situation required the agencies to respond. Brownie was just the tip of the iceberg. Not a single cabinet member has been held accountable for all the fiascos. Instead of showing them the door you offer them your confidence or Medals of Freedom.

This last week we heard a VA employee took a department lap top home, and this wasn't the only time he had done this, but on this occasion someone broke into the employee's home and stole the lap top. The stolen computer has very sensitive information on 26.5 million veterans. The theft of that information is perhaps the nation's largest breach of security, putting every vet at risk of identity theft.

Jim Nicholson, the VA department head was summoned to Capitol Hill after the theft, to explain how this could happened.

Sen. Patrick Leahy said Bush should call Nicholson "into the woodshed" and consider changing the leadership of the VA, particularly after the agency waited until May 22 to inform the public about the May 3 theft.
Well you did call Nicholson, but it was not to reprimand him but to publically announce your confidence in him!

You do this all the time. You consistently reward loyalty over competence. You gave the medal of Freedom to:
General Tommy "we have enough troops" Franks,
CIA Director George "Slam Dunk" Tenent, and
Paul "disband the Iraqi Army" Bremer,
three people who helped you create the significant mess we have in Iraq.

To show your dedication to another acolyte you publically complimented FEMA Director Michael Brown immediately after the disastrous FEMA response to Hurricane Katrina.

If there weren't so much TV coverage describing the scale of the incompetence by FEMA, I believe you would have given Michael Brown a Medal of Freedom as well.

Every government agency you filled with Bush-loyalist department heads, have provided mediocre to outright incompetent leadership. The CIA EPA, FEMA, NASA, FBI, CDC, NSA, FDA, Treasury, USDA, and FCC are just a few of the agencies that have atrocious track records of distortion, and inept management since you took office.

It is obvious your government department heads, although ill-chosen, are more loyal to you than they are to the country and you reward their loyalty with medals and public support despite the severity of their mistakes.

When you were recently asked about mistakes you have made you shocked many people when you finally admitted you made mistakes, but your answer was pretty lame.

The mistake you regretted was your tough talk? Give me a break! Still, many people were so shocked you finally admitted to mistakes they didn't notice you didn't change your pat answers on how the war in Iraq was going. Nothing really changed.

I think your repetitive behavior of rewarding incompetents, and expecting better performance qualifies as insanity.

Do you have a preferred "safe place" where you could spend the rest of your days and not hurt anymore people? When Cheney is not shooting someone or restarting the cold war ask him where he goes to dry out maybe you can get a group discount.

Why do so many people suddenly want to quit you? U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Robert Zoellick is pissed off because he was passed over. Treasury Secretary John Snow is just waiting for you to find a family friend to replace him. Attorney General, Alberto Gonzalez, the F.B.I. director, Robert Mueller, and deputy attorney general, Paul McNulty at the Justice Department said they were ready to quit if you ordered them to surrender the evidence they picked up from Representative William J. Jefferson's office. Why did Gonzalez suddenly get "religion" and act like one of his criminal investigations should ignore political considerations?

There are lots of government people that want to quit you junior. But you make it so hard on them. Many government workers are not allowed to quit even when their contracts are up. Young army officers regular Army and reservists who have served their commitments are not allowed to leave.

If they are not allowed to resign you'll have to change the recruitment posters to say, "Uncle Sam wants you ... forever."

Maj. Crystal Oliver, an Army spokeswoman said, “We are a nation at war and an army at war". “The … policy only impacts officers in critically short specialties who have not previously deployed in support of the global war on terror.
According to ex-chief of the Army Reserve, Lt. Gen. James R. Helmly, he said he informed commanders that resignations would be decided case by case in 2004 and 2005. Before they can leave they must meet certain pre-conditions; their career fields must be at least 80 percent strength. Service in Iraq, Afghanistan, or in a domestic security mission since the 2001 terror attack or if they have personal hardships, Helmly wrote.

The little-known policy, was adopted in 2004 by Helmly. According to the Army, they refused about 400 reserve officers from resigning their commissions.

At least ten reserve officers have filed suit claiming breech of contract and fraud.

Rummy said we had enough troops to handle the fighting in Iraq, Afghanistan and send 6000 National Guard to support the border patrol.

So why is Rummy squeezing the troops? Why doesn't he end the "stop loss" program and allow other soldiers end their tour according to their original contract with the military.

According to the article from The Canton Repository, newspaper, "Thousands of active-duty Army and reserve soldiers have been temporarily prevented from leaving the military, either because their skills were needed or because their units were going overseas."
"As of January, more than 13,000 soldiers were kept in the service under stop loss.

Rummy can claim to have enough troops because he never lets many of them leave unless they are on stretchers or in body bags.

He just keeps recycling them over and over again. How many tours of service will these poor bastards have to endure before they break? How many more Haditha incidents have happened and how many more will occur before someone says enough? Get more troops in there and limit their tours of duty!

You put some of the finest young people in America into a meat grinder and then take the ones who survive one tour and reinsert them into the same de-humanizing experience over and over again. That experience could break anyone down.

The murders at Haditha were not just caused by Marines who actually pulled the triggers, Rummy and all the commanders in between have to share the blame as well. Everyone who agreed with or supported Rummy's limited number of troops in Iraq has to be accountable. But lets not forget this is in addition to your overall blame for distorting the information to have this war to begin with.

Mr. President,
You almost made it all the way through your act of contrition with "lap boy" Tony Blair, but you couldn't help yourself and at the end you couldn't help yourself and smirk at the press corp. Now that's the arrogant son-of-a-bitch I have grown to know.

This week's news is laced with more examples of Bush-arrogance and defiance of the law.

For example, assistant attorney general, Peter Keisler spoke about the latest lawsuit alleging that AT&T illegally allowed the government to monitor phone conversations and e-mail communications.

The feeling shared by Keiler and other Bush-gang members are that, "In cases such as this one, where the national security of the United States is implicated, it is well established that the executive branch is best positioned to judge the potential effects of disclosure of sensitive information on the nation's security." In other words the justice department is in a better position to make decisions rather than allow the courts to make them.

Rep. Edward Markey, a Massachusetts Democrat, called for the FCC to investigate AT&T Inc., Verizon Communications and BellSouth Corp. for turning over call records to the National Security Agency.

The 1934 Communications Act requires telecommunications carriers to protect the confidentiality of certain consumer call information.

The FCC answered, "They will not pursue complaints about a U.S. spy agency's access to millions of telephone records because it cannot obtain classified material," the FCC chairman said in a letter released on Tuesday.

The excuse of national security is used once again, but you also hedged your bet by promising the telecommunications companies a get-out-of-lawsuit-free card.

Rep. Jan Schakowsky of Illinois said on Tuesday, AT&T and the other participating telcos might have received a waiver from John Negroponte; the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) which protects them from liability for actions it may be taking by supplying information to the NSA.

Curiously you issued this presidential memorandum on May 5, just a few days before the news on the NSA domestic spying scandal hit the papers. You delegated to the DNI the authority to "waive liability for national security matters if they are done in cooperation with the head of an agency or department," according to a notice in the Federal Register.

All the outrage by Studs Terkel, the ACLU, and many concerned citizens who have filed suit are all going to hit the same wall; national security.

The next issue has nothing to do with national security, but it does show another level of arrogance you have fostered in your organization.

Two senior officials from the FDA made legal depositions this week stating the former U.S. FDA Administration chief outright ignored and discarded their findings prior to making the decision to indefinitely postpone action on Barr
Pharmaceuticals Inc.'s "morning-after" contraceptive. Plan B can prevent pregnancy if taken within 72 hours of sexual intercourse.

The depositions are part of a lawsuit brought against the FDA by reproductive rights group.
According to the Reuters article, "Dr. Steven Galson, director of the FDA's Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, testified that he was leaning toward approving Barr's plan to sell Plan B over the counter."

Galson said he wrote a memo to Crawford saying scientific evidence supported over-the-counter sales.

The second senior FDA official, Dr. Janet Woodcock, a deputy FDA commissioner and a career scientist said in a deposition she asked Crawford "repeatedly" about Barr's application and "he just said it was under evaluation." Like Galson she was told about Crawford's decision afterwards rather than be allowed in the decision-making process.

Then-Acting FDA Commissioner Lester Crawford basically told the senior scientists "I don't like the idea that you are going to approve it so stuff your research" I'm making this decision."

Crawford was confirmed as FDA commissioner in July 2005. It took him a month to announce that he was delaying the approval on Plan B until he received more comments from the public. He resigned in September 2005, two months later.

Crawford's immediate predecessor as FDA commissioner, Mark B. McClellan also also overruled the agency's medical reviewers to block the distribution of the morning-after pill over the counter.

If it smells like shit, looks like shit, and feels like shit it's shit.

The underlying reason for sitting on Plan B is another example of political ideology trumping science and public health. Its one more example that you and your "conservative-bible-thumping" base know better than career scientists when it comes to women's health.

Because of the bullshit over Plan B, Democratic senators are blocking the confirmation of the FDA's current acting commissioner and Bush-family friend, Andrew C. von Eschenbach.

Arrogance is at the core, of all these issues and it is practiced in a dangerous and divisive manner which imperils our safety and our health. I wish I could say these are unique situations, but it has become the standard operating mode in your administration.

Your little sneer at the end of your speech captures "the real you." It says " I pulled it off; America is going to believe I can admit my mistakes and you reporters can't do anything about it." It depicts your lack of respect for all Americans stupid enough to fall for your down-home-just-one-of -the-guys act.

Lets see how often you smirk this December after several congressional investigations are initiated.

You looked a little misty at your news conference today. Was it the realization that this is your last visit with lap boy Blair?

Has the enormity of your mistake invading Iraq finally hitting home?

The people of Britain have regularly pushed for Blair to step down before his term is over, and the odds are not good that you'll be invited to his going away party.

I bet Cheney, Rumsfield, and Wolfowitz never told there could be so many drawbacks from your unwarranted invasion of Iraq. The fallout has continued to this day.

It seems like every week; some nation is standing up to you. Many of them are banding together to form alliances of self protection. The European Union has developed their own small army shunning NATO. Russia and China are building up their military forming a counter balance to the United States. Your foreign policy has proven disastrous. Our economy is controlled more and more by foreigners. Is that what has you down?

Was it the conviction of the guy you nicknamed "Kenny Boy," a major contributor to your election and a major participant in Cheney's energy plan?

I can imagine how bad you must feel for "Kenny Boy" after he was found guilty on all six counts against him, including conspiracy to commit securities and wire fraud. He is already 64 years old and is facing 165 years in prison. I wouldn't figure he'll be contributing much to your campaign, or helping Mr. "Locked and Seriously Loaded" Cheney with energy plans any more.

Maybe it's the trial of David Safavian; your former chief of staff at the General Services Administration and a former White House budget official. He is facing multiple charges of making false statements to the Senate and GSA investigators. He got caught trying to protect another one of your major campaign contributor Jack Abramoff. The dust won't settle soon on Amramoff's Republican-votes-for-bribes scandal.

Maybe its Monday's guilty plea offered by Neil Volz, a former top aide to Republican lawmaker Bob Ney from Ohio admitting he conspired to corrupt Ney, his staff and other members of Congress with trips, free tickets, meals, jobs for relatives, and fundraising events?

Was it sentencing of James Tobin, 45, A senior official in your re-election campaign to 10 months in prison for the phone-jamming scheme designed to keep New Hampshire Democrats from voting in a 2002 election?

Could it be your concern the Democrats may get an investigation into 22 telephone calls made by Tobin and New Hampshire Republican Party officials to the White House, involving national Republican officials in their scheme?

Is it perhaps that you had to find a new domestic policy advisor after the last one you had Claude Allen was arrested on felony theft charges?

Maybe it is the major rift you created within Republicans and some Democrats and the FBI, when you used the Justice Department to searched a law maker's office, throwing many Republic Congressmen with something to hide into a panic?

It might also me the major rift you accidentally started with pursuing an immigration policy. You were only looking for a diversion issue to get people's mind off all the chickens that have been coming home to roost, dragging down your poll numbers. You didn't realize how inflammatory the issue was within your racist buddies.

The gossip about Cheney testifying under oath, could surly make you sad. He would be under oath for the first time; God knows what Patrick Fitzgerald and the grand Jury would ask him.

Just how good a friend is he? Do you remember your father's warning about him?

Since when does a Bush Republican help a Democrat?

Mr. President,
Over the weekend the FBI in an unprecedented move, searched Capitol Hill suite of offices of Rep. William Jefferson of Louisiana, a Democrat representing Louisiana's 2nd Congressional District and the Republican Speaker of the House goes ballistic. Why?

The FBI had caught the Louisiana Democrat on camera accepting a $100,000 from a Virginia businesswoman who was secretly wearing a microphone. They later found $90,000 in a freezer in his home.

It looks like Jefferson, a Democrat in his eighth congressional term, is dead meat. The FBI probe which has already netted a former aide and a lobbyist that worked with Jefferson.

Brett Pfeffer his ex-aide and lobbyist Vernon Jackson have both pleaded guilty to bribery-related charges. Jefferson allegedly demanded hundreds of thousands of dollars in exchange for his help securing business on two African telecommunications deals.

The FBI initiated a search of his offices after they said Jefferson refused to cooperate.

The search began at 7:15 p.m. ET in the Rayburn House Office Building, where Jefferson's office is located, said Debra Weierman, an FBI spokeswoman.

Jefferson declared his innocence on Monday during news conference outside the federal building in New Orleans and said he will not resign.

The House Ethics Committee has also opened an inquiry into the case.

Immediately after the news of the search hit the main stream media, Hastert's office condemned the FBI's intrusion into a house member's office.

Ron Bonjean, a spokesman for House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert, said on Monday, `They're standing on the branch that they're sawing off." He also said." This is an `outrageous intrusion' that violates the separation of powers between the executive and legislative branches."

" I expect to seek a means to restore the delicate balance of power among the branches of government that the founders intended,'' Hastert said.

Hastert got with Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist and said, "They were 'very concerned' about the search, which was conducted under a warrant issued by a federal judge."

"Insofar as I am aware, since the founding of our republic 219 years ago, the Justice Department has never found it important to do what it did Saturday night, crossing this separation of powers line in order to successfully prosecute corruption by members of Congress," Hastert said.

"Nothing I have learned in the last 48 hours leads me to believe that there was any necessity to change the precedent established over those 219 years," Hastert said.

Frist said legal experts from both; the Senate and House have been discussing "what a proper course of action is."

Hastert was almost hysterical with outrage.

It is really odd Hastert made such a big fuss over the FBI's weekend raid. Both the Speaker of the House and Senate Majority Leader represents a lot of Capital Hill power.

Why?

There is no way Hastert would come to the aid of a Democrat without some type of significant benefit for himself. He would chew his right arm off first.

So today's announcement from ABC news of an FBI investigation of Hastert puts everything into perspective. If it's true, Fat boy Hastert is probably scared shitless of receiving the same type of treatment from the FBI.

And Hastert has a lot of explaining to do.

Hastert collected more than $100,000 in donations from Abramoff's firm and tribal clients between 2001 and 2004 for his support.

For two years, Hastert did acknowledge his use of Abramoff's restaurant for fundraising. The congressman blames a paperwork oversight and recently corrected it.

Hastert and many other lawmakers are under investigation for using their position to pushed for Abramoff's casino-operating tribes in exchange for campaign contributions and other perks which they received; sometimes within weeks of their efforts.

Once up on a time in another era, Congressional ethics rules call for lawmakers to avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest in performing their official duties and accepting political money.

But, since we are in Bush-world the Republican-led Congress must feel they can break the law anytime they want just like you.

The FBI investigation of Hastert has put him under a lot of pressure because he also made a pretty ridiculous statement last week on the House floor: "Well, folks, if you earn $40,000 a year and have a family of two, you don't pay any taxes. So you probably, if you don't pay any taxes, you are not going to get a big tax cut."

How would Fat boy look like in Orange? On the positive side if he goes to prison, he'll probably lose weight.

Mr. President,
Thanks to the brand-new national "unity" government in Iraq inaugurated this last Saturday, the "Coalition of the Willing" is becoming the coalition "Ready to Boogie."

I bet you've been busting at the seams until Iraq's Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, was finally sworn in. Even if Iraq is so bad, your own propaganda machine, the Voice Of America had to shut down the last few months because the violence was so bad.

This means that the orchestrated ballet of statements and denials can begin. The leaders of the major coalition countries have to begin your dance together arm-in-arm as you spout encouraging "mission accomplished" type of statements without actually calling it a victory, because; well it’s not.

So I don't expect to hear about any plans for a "VI Day."
You have to disguise these hurried preparations as a measured activity and not a panic exit." I think I heard a Congress member exclaim Marines don't "cut and run. " Rove will have to come up with something more colorful maybe calling it, a "timely and logical powers transfer to local officials." You are not leaving the country really, not after you built those huge military bases and that humongous embassy.

Let's not kid a kidder. US military commanders will pull back to four giant bases within Iraq.

Lets start with Japan. On Saturday government sources quoted by the Yomiuri Shimbun, said the Japanese government "has begun making arrangements with the governments of Britain and Australia, aiming at a decision on the withdrawal as early as next month."

Japanese troops have not engaged in any fighting, but instead worked on reconstruction projects in the southern city of Samawa. Their activities are limited by Japan's pacifist constitution.
Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi said the situation in Iraq would be considered carefully before deciding on a troop pullout.

Tony Blair is also advocating a pull out as well. We'll see whether "Lap dog" grew any balls since his last encounter with you. He is hoping to discuss this with you this week. The rumor has it that an earlier agreement to remove British troops fell through because of all the violence. Imagine that.

The new plan involves removing 2,000 British soldiers by the end of the year, starting as early as next month. They really want to plan a province by province as Iraqi military and police as Iraqi military and police assume security. I wish I had a nickle for every time I heard you say that. When they stand up we'll stand down; yea yea yea. One British military official said that it would take months to see whether the Iraqi forces could actually keep order, but that is immaterial, you have to move some troops out before the November elections.

Australian is also joining the chorus as planned. They mentioned a pull out for months now. And Howard was just here. I wonder what both of you might have talked about, besides beef exports that is. Australia has been exporting beef to Japan ever since Jaoan quit importing American beef products because of our Mad Cow scare and tainted beef. When Japan starts to accept U.S. Beef again it will cost Australia a bunch of money. You will need to offer them something for their cooperation in Iraq. Will it moo?

Newly elected Italian Prime Minister, Romano Prodi, says he plans to withdraw Italy's troops from Iraq. He says "It is the intention of this Government to propose to parliament the return of our troops from Iraq," Mr Prodi said in an address to the Italian Senate. He also added a timely shot saying, "The war had been a "grave error, "and a "technical time frame " would have to be agreed with all sides. The shot at your war is just a politician's way to distance himself from your terrible Iraq mess.

The former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi said he wanted to pull Italy's 3000 troops out by the end of this year.

Mr. President,
Although the immigration issue may have been meant to be a distraction from all the disasters, you caused through your incompetence; it may end up almost as big a disaster as Iraq.

The question to pursue this issue now is suspicious at best. Mexican Americans were the original Americans along with Indians in our west and south western states. And since immigration did not just happen why is there a sudden rush to seal our borders now and not right after September 2001? But lets ignore that for now.

In one sense immigrants have been around so long they are as American as apple pie. They have been a part of the national landscape for as long as there has been an America. Immigrant soldiers have even fought alongside other American soldiers going back as far as the war of 1812.

Today is no different. According to the most recent estimates by the Department of Defense, about 37,000 troops, which translate into some 3 percent of the U.S. armed forces, are not citizens.

This is not a recent phenomenon; immigrants have served in the American military throughout U.S. history.

Anyone who heard the phrase “Damn the torpedoes! Full speed ahead,” should know it was issued by Admiral David Glasgow Farragut, commander of the Union forces at the Battle of Mobile Bay, in Alabama, on August 5, 1864. According to a note in the Oxford Dictionary of Quotations, “torpedoes” meant “mines.” Farragut, perhaps the Civil War’s best-known Hispanic, was the son of Jorge Farragut, a Spaniard born in Minorca who came to the U.S. to fight against the British in the American Revolution and later fought in the War of 1812 as part of the U.S. Navy.

About 500,000 non-citizens fought for the Union Army in the Civil War, according to a 1996 study of military figures and historical accounts by the American Immigration Law Foundation, Almost 10,000 Mexican Americans served in regular army or volunteer units. Colonel Santos Benavides became the highest-ranking Mexican American in the Confederate Army. As the commander of the 33rd Cavalry, he drove Union forces back from Brownsville, Texas, in March 1864.

During the First World War, the U.S. government drafted into military service nearly half a million immigrants of forty-six different nationalities, creating an army with over 18 percent of its soldiers born in foreign countries.

Over the last 140 years, many immigrant soldiers have been awarded the highest medal a soldier can receive, the Congressional Medal of Honor.d the call of duty." Latinos have received more Congressional Medals of Honor than any other ethnic group, in proportion to the number who served. In total, 39 Hispanic Americans have received this decoration.

Many fallen soldiers from the Iraq Afghanistan wars, died wearing American uniforms, although they are not American citizens.

Many people don't know that Congress at your behest, amended the Immigration and Nationality Act relating to naturalization through service in the Armed Forces of the United States on April 29, 2003.

To quote the Library of Congress. "To join the United States military, an alien must be at least a lawful permanent resident. To hold certain specialized positions in the military such as a Navy SEAL, a person must be a U.S. citizen. Today, over 37,000 active duty members of the Armed Forces are noncitizens out of a total of 1.4 million men and women on active duty. Also, about 11,800 members of the National Guard and Reserve are noncitizens out of a total of 1,353,000. "

The Department of Homeland Security has granted many of these soldiers American citizenship posthumously.

Most family members of the fallen soldiers say almost universally, that their sons and daughters were motivated to join because they wanted to give something back to their adopted country. They said they were proud to defend the United States. They also saw an opportunity to get an education and a shortcut to citizenship.

Don't you think there is something terribly wrong with our immigration policies if immigrants have to be willing to die on the battlefield to earn citizenship?

In July 2003, you decided to fast track naturalization process for foreign recruits for any immigrants willing to serve in our military as part of the "war on terror."

Instead of waiting three years before applying for citizenship, green-card holders in the armed forces who entered after September 11, 2001 could apply immediately for citizenship.

John McCain, Ted Kennedy, and eight other senators also introduced a bill that would reduce permanently the waiting period from three to two years and provide benefits for non-citizen spouses of non-citizen soldiers killed in action.

These immigrant soldiers are called "Green card" soldiers.

Georgia is a good example of a state conflicted with this difficult issue.

Two senators from Georgia, introduced a bill that would make posthumous citizenship automatic for green card soldiers.

This sounds like a very supportive measure to take care of our immigrants.

Suddenly after you brought up the immigration issue, Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue signed into law the denial of many state services paid for by taxpayers to people who are in the United States illegally. It also forces contractors doing business with the state to verify the legal status of new workers, and calls for police to notify immigration officials if people charged with crimes are illegal immigrants.

"It's our responsibility to ensure that our famous Georgia hospitality is not abused, that our taxpayers are not taken advantage of and that our citizens are protected," Perdue said before signing the law.

On the one hand the state of Georgia supports immigrants if they die defending our country; they just don't want them to live in the state if they survive the war.

That's just the beginning of the unfair treatment green card soldiers endure.

Immigrants who enter the service are often surprised with the limited choices they have once they sign up. Because of national security non-citizen members of the military have only a limited number of Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) to choose from when enlisting or reenlisting. Not surprisingly these immigrant soldiers become the "brown front" in the infantry and are most likely to be called first to the front lines. It is no wonder why so many immigrants earned the Congressional Medal of Honor when there were so many more of them on the front lines.

Right-wing talk show hosts and FOX television pundits get so worked up about the enormity of this "American calamity," that I expect them to push for a new reality show involving attack dogs, captured immigrants, and unused football stadiums.

As I hear the hatred, venom, and visceral attacks against immigrants, I begin to understand how the attacks on jews began in 1939 Germany and I shudder. I hope it stops soon because the next step may force immigrants to wear identification badges.

This is disgusting a new low for your Republic party junior.

It’s OK to have non-citizen-immigrants, and their family members fight and die in Iraq allegedly to protect our freedoms; our freedoms not theirs.

Mr. President,
You seem to be getting a hell-of-a lot more secretive as America becomes a target-rich environment for your spies.

As you covertly set about learn more and more about our internet activities, our friends, our neighbors, our phone calls and our personal histories; we learn less and less about your past activities, your present activities, and the people you make deals with.

A democratic government is supposed to have it the other way around. Our personal information is supposed to be private, and your activities are supposed to be transparent.

First let's get one thing clear, monitoring millions of Americans' phone calls is illegal. The upcoming Democratic-led House of Representatives in December will verify this fact after their investigation of your methods involving the NSA and the Pentagon.

Secondly, your explanation of using this huge database of all our phone calls to look for terrorists does not make sense. Tracking millions of innocent Americans' calls to find the bad guys is ridiculous. Your assumption here is that all of us are guilty until your software search proves us ,otherwise.

The NSA is not the only federal agency you are using. You are also using the military to monitor Americans as well.

The Wall Street Journal reported one noteworthy and telling episode involving one suspicious group working in Akron Ohio. This mysterious group had been tracked by the finest minds within an elite counterintelligence unit called 902nd Military Intelligence Group.

The 902nd, established during World War II, known as the "Deuce," is part of the Army command. They are another branch of Rummy's Rangers.

This unique counterintelligence group reviewed police databases, internet traffic by the group, photographs and records of vehicles before tipping off the police about the group's anticipated moves.

On March 19, 2005, about 200 members of the suspicious group were headed to a Marine Corps recruiting center and a Federal Bureau of Investigation office in Akron Ohio. Close following the group was the police in unmarked cars. The 902nd had earlier sent the local police a two-page alert from the elite and very secretive 902nd Military Intelligence Group.

The 902nd surmised from the intelligence they gathered, the suspected terrorist's plan involved taking on the appearance of protesters listening to anti-war speeches against the Iraq war that March-day.

Army official Claude G. Benner Jr. told the police, "the potential for a spontaneous, unprovoked attack against either. The demonstrators or pro-US Military persons is assessed as HIGH." This is military talk for "these un-American bad boys are very likely to bust up the city, kick some ass, and raise hell at the military recruiters and at the protest."

Nothing happened. There were no fires, no fights, no rock throwing no overturned police cars, no broken windows. It was as advertised; a peaceful protest and the suspicious terrorist group turned out to be middle-aged Quaker peace marchers. But to the super secret counterintelligence group they were identified and targeted as probable-terrorists.

Commander. Hick at the Pentagon says the assessment that the Akron protest posed a threat "was based on the best information available at the time, which was lawfully received from another federal agency." Commander. Hicks continued, "The fact that the marches proceeded peacefully is irrelevant to leveling criticisms against the Army in this instance."

Those feisty Quakers surely had those military intelligence people nervous. I didn't know Quakers had such a bad reputation. They must be like the Taliban or the Black Panthers to get so much attention.

The article, stated, an Army report issued in May 2005 to the U.S. Northern Command, which is in charge of joint military operations in the continental United States, trashed the idea that hidden "provocateurs" might be organizing multiple protests around the country. "We have not noted a significant connection between incidents (i.e. recurring instigators at protests, vehicle descriptions)," said the report.

Those dangerous terrorists you tracked were an average peace-loving Christian group. They are middle-aged Christians who were as American as apple pie.

The phrase Army intelligence ends up becoming an oxymoron at the end of this episode of Rummy's Dummy Rangers

Many people were probably unaware that a military group could operate inside the United States.

They probably missed your comments shortly after 9/11 when you declared the continental United States "a theater of military operations."
The last president to do this was Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War.

After 9/11 you went all out, you didn't just bend the laws you shattered them when you set up information gathering programs such as the Counter Intelligence Field Activity. CIFA. CIFA gets some of its raw data from a reporting process called Talon (short for "Threat and Local Observation Notice")

Your Pentagon made Talon the standard method for armed forces personnel to report "non-validated" information about possible terrorist activity. Again, this is military talk for, any military personnel can write anything about anyone into this system.

I bet you hope you could extract some useful patterns to uncover terrorists by using data mining techniques on the Talon's database. The Talon's database can be combined with other information such as internet usage, phone call traffic, and other personal information.

My question is that even after you set up these sophisticated information gathering programs and manned them with an elite counterintelligence outfit like the 902nd, how did they get it so wrong? And how come the fancy programs and their gung ho military analysts' have NOTHING to show for their efforts after four years?

After failing to find terrorists what else could you possibly use this huge database of information on millions of Americans?

I know you would NEVER think about politicizing something as powerful as this huge database. But think about how handy all this information about people's lives could help Republicans win elections across the country this November and beyond.

Makes a guy wonder you know.

Mr. President,
I hate to bring this up junior, but someone just died in Littleton Adventist Hospital in Colorado. This was no ordinary death. This patient died of a rare degenerative brain ailment called classic Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease.

Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease should ring a bell. The varient of it is more commonly called Mad Cow Disease.

Dr. Lawrence Wood chief medical officer for the Littleton Adventist Hospital stated that Classic Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, is a rare degenerative brain ailment which results in death and it is not related to mad cow disease - variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. According to Wood, it could take years before the disease is apparent and the only way to confirm it is with a brain biopsy.

The Creutzfeldt-Jakob patient died on March 23, nearly six weeks after the surgery, the disease was confirmed on May 9, officials said.

The hospital did not explain how the patient contracted the disease.

If we can believe the CDC, which I don't anymore, the Classic form of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease occurs in about one in one million people in the U.S.

I want to believe that it is not Mad Cow Disease. I really do. I love meat I am a true carnivore. I also want to believe in our USDA.

The Agriculture Department has a pretty contradictory mandate: to promote the sale of meat on behalf of American producers and to guarantee that American meat is safe for us beef-eating gas-guzzling Americans.

So I am sad to say its not hard to figure out which side the USDA flops in such a business-loving-republican-run government like yours.

Well-financed cattle and meatpacking industries dictated rules to the Republican congressmen for years, and those same congressmen repeatedly blocked efforts by Democrats and a handful of moderate Republicans to emphasis more procedures insuring consumer safety.

Let's cut to the chase here, your administration, ranks our safety right down there with helping starving children from Africa.

Back during the first outbreak of Mad cow in the United States the USDA claims to have tested about 20,000 cows for Mad Cow disease, but couldn't provide any documentation to prove it.

Even if you tested 20,000 cows, this is only a small percentage of the roughly 35 million cows slaughtered every year. Some experts say current procedures are unlikely to detect mad cow. Belgium, has a small fraction of our cattle population and they test about 20 times that number for the disease. Japan tests every cow.

Michael Schwochert, a retired USDA veterinarian in Ft. Morgan, Colo said, "It's always concerned me that they haven't used the same rapid testing technique that's used in Europe," where mad cow has been detected in several additional countries outside the United Kingdom."

Using poor testing methods and refusing to mandate a tracking system of cattle from birth to slaughterhouse to supermarket shelf; almost makes it like sound as though you don't want to find mad cow disease. And if we did find it or any other contaminated meat, we couldn't track where it went to or where it came from.

The procedure for testing cows in America begins when cows are unloaded off the truck. USDA veterinarians are required to test them as they are unloaded. If a sickly or downer cow is spotted by plant employees before USDA officials see the questionable cow "It can be returned on a different truck with instructions from the owner not to mention it to the inspectors ," Schwochert said.

Ann M. Veneman was the Secretary of the USDA in 2003 and she stated after a cow was identified with the disease on December in 2003, she said the case is probably isolated and the US beef supply is safe. "I plan to serve beef for my Christmas dinner," Veneman said, "and we remain confident in the safety of our food supply."

"The American Meat Institute, a trade group in Arlington, Va., representing the U.S. meat and poultry industry, claimed the U.S. beef supply is safe for human consumption."

"First and foremost, the U.S. beef supply is safe," AMI spokesman Dan Murphy told UPI. "We think its safe for U.S. consumers to eat."

Shortly after Veneman made her announcement, Japan and South Korea both banned the importation of American meat.

Ann Veneman resigned as Secretary of the USDA on November 15, 2004.

Japan the largest importer of meat products, banned American beef for two years afterwards. They agreed to lift the ban after they agreed to only accept young US cattle under the age of 21 months. Agricultural safety experts decided young cows were free from mad cow disease.

This January American beef was again banned in Japan after a U.S. meat packing plant shipped banned spinal materials in a batch of meat to Japan.

Japan has not lifted the ban as of today.

I am trying not to over react here junior, but you can't inspect your way out of a paper bag even if you wanted to and the cattlemen's association lobby would pitch a fit if you did. So this latest case of an undisclosed cause for classic Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease is really creepy.

It takes years for Mad Cow disease before any symptoms appear, but I'm warning you junior. The Republican's will not get my vote in November if I begin to display prominent psychiatric/behavioral symptoms; painful dyesthesiasis; and delayed neurologic signs while I am barbecuing a steak this summer!!!!

Ecuador moves against Oil companies. One more South American country gets tired of receiving pennies on the dollar for their oil and decides to nationalize the oil companies.

U.S. has banned arms sales and technology transfers to Venezuela, because it says Mr Chavez's Government has failed to cooperate in the US-led war on terrorism. Then a conservative paper has an article implying words vs rumors of terrorists. Neo-cons have officially started the ball rolling. So I'm braced for Limbaugh's call to another war and FOX TV's dazzling red white and blue banner with the announcement, AL QUEDA READIES ATTACK ON AMERICA FROM VENEZUELA!!!

CIA admits renditions finally! This has to be the worst kept secret since you admitted to not reading books and newspapers.

America police state. You're henchmen continue to make inroads into dismantling the Constitution. No one is watching anyway. Heil mein fuhrer junior.

FBI's 3,501 surveillance subjects This news seems to contradict your public statements claiming only al-queda suspects are monitored. If we have 3,501 al-queda in our country how come you haven't arrested any of them?

Army denies resignations throws them back in to the fight. I was heartened to hear Rummy has enough servicemen to volunteer 6,000 National Guard troops to help protect our southern border. Does that count the officers you do not allow to retire? Rummy recently adopted a policy barring officers from leaving the service if their field is undermanned or they have not been deployed to Iraq, to Afghanistan or for homeland defense missions.

HBO warns vets about Iraq mash movie. What are you really afraid of? You don't have a compassionate bone in your body. You are more concerned that Americans will see what war is really like. Now that would be a bitch.

Blair ready to step aside as UK attorney general trashes Gitmo. Your British lap dog buddy is stepping down the summer of 2007 before his term was up. He has been getting pounded over and over again for supporting your war and he finally had to step down. Meanwhile the British equivalent of Alberto Gonzalez, Peter Goldsmith said in a speech "The existence of Guantánamo Bay remains unacceptable." And the U.S. prison camp at Guantánamo Bay is a discredit to the American tradition of freedom and should close. This guy noted right away which way the wind is blowing in England.

Your model Iraq city gets bombed. A suicide truck bomber hit a crowded public market in the northern city of Tal Afar late Tuesday, killing at least 17 people and wounding 35. Just this March, you called Tal Afar, a peaceful city protected by our troops, as a success story after U.S. troops regained control there last year. Are there any cities that haven't been bombed by either insurgents or our air force?

Your war against reporters has hit new heights, but you still have a way to go.

Mr. President,
In 1971 the Supreme Court decided to allow the publication of the Pentagon Papers. Two of the judges in the 6-3 majority opinion left the door open to prosecute the Washington Post after-the-fact under the espionage laws.

The issue was never pursued of course, but that was then not now.

According to an article I just read, from the Associated Press, the wording seems ambiguous.

There are at least two potential problems for journalists from this law.

One: Under the law no private person might have classified documents that were illegally provided to them.

Two: If the person who receives documents or information which concerns the national defense, repeats that information, and they have reason to believe the information could be used to do injury to the United States or to the advantage of any foreign nation; it is against the law.

An aggressive DOJ will push these suppositions. You are constantly over-reaching your powers. Your low ratings and the incessant scandals have not slowed you down in this arena; in fact, I think you have become more dangerous.

It’s a well know fact the CIA has had a conflict behind the scenes, with your administration since the beginning of the war. Several people from the CIA have been very concerned about you and Vice-president Cheney's motives. And although Goss tried to make an example out of Mary McCarthy, disgruntled agents and analysts must be bursting at the seams to talk to somebody about potentially illegal policies implemented by this administration. You seem especially animated when it involves leakers and reporters.

Even in death your domestic spy agency won't leave reporters at peace. The FBI recently tried to obtain the late reporter Jack Anderson's files and documents from his widow. She told them to shove it; I would say that is pretty damn aggressive.

To quote an article from Brian Ross and Richard Esposito's Report at ABC news, the "FBI acknowledged late Monday that it is increasingly seeking reporters' phone records in leak investigations."

"It used to be very hard and complicated to do this, but it no longer is in the Bush administration," said a senior federal official."

"The acknowledgement followed our blotter item that ABC News reporters had been warned by a federal source that the government knew who we were calling."

There is also an important case involving Steven J. Rosens and Keith Weissman, two former AIPAC lobbyists, indicted fro violating the 1917 espionage laws. They received and repeated information concerning national defense to foreign power (Israel) and to reporters.

I think your justice department will use the result of this case to press more reporters into some tight corners. The first amendment is at stake, but I don't believe Bush is afraid of pressing this issue to subdue leakers and reporters even more.

I don't expect many people feel all that bad for reporters but if we rely only on the press secretary to tell us what we need to know we should weld our TV tuners to FOX TV. If we lose the first amendment, you seriously cripple our Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

The other reason involves understanding what reporters do to gather the news and the risks they take for us. More reporters and photo journalists have been killed in three years of the Iraq war than the entire 13 years of the Vietnam war. Forty-seven journalists were killed covering the Iraq war just last year. They gave their lives to bring us the real news, in place of government propaganda.

Here is another way of considering the role of journalism in our democracy. A free democracy is not a destination; it is a process which is adjusted by the will of the people. The only way the people know to adjust our democracy is through the information they receive from a free press.

And that free press is in serious danger. The FBI recently acknowledged that reporter's phone records are a lot easier to access than ever before because of a new provision within the Patriot Act which allow federal agents to seek information with National Security Letters (NSL).

The NSL's are a type of an administrative subpoena but are not signed by a judge.

Under this new law, a phone company that receives an NSL for phone records must provide them and may not divulge to the customer that the records have been given to the government.

Spying on reporters is not a new thing or even unique to the United States. I guess you can strive to do it better than other countries.

Anything they can do you can do better!

The latest news coming out of Europe states that the German spy agency is spying on journalists, keeping files on them and paying reporters to spy on their fellow journalists.

Their government 's spy agency was already under investigation for allegedly helped you prior to the Iraq war.

All of the this brought up painful memories for many German people who lived in terror of the Stasi, the feared East German secret police.

Older German people would also remember Adolf Hitler's dreaded spy program where even children were encouraged to spy on their parents.
I would guess you hold Russia and China as your model for managing the news.

China is the midst of a new program of repressing independent news reporters. A freelance writer was just sentenced to 12 years in prison Tuesday for posting articles on foreign websites

In Beijing; prosecutors filed a new indictment against a Chinese researcher for The New York Times who has been in custody since 2004 on state secrets charges. In southern China, a journalist went on trial and pleaded not guilty to extortion charges.

China has 42 journalists in jail; more than any other country in the world. According to the Associated Press, the charges used to lock them up are pretty vague but many charges involved national security.

All that WalMart-money has emboldened Beijing to do what they damn well please.

So as you see, you are in at least 3rd place among major nations on squashing the news, but you're probably tied with Germany on spying on journalists and managing the news.

It's not to late to catch up with the big guys junior.

The best part is that most Americans are too concerned about how to pay for gas and juggle equity loan payments to pay for the schooling of their kids to be concerned about things that don't immediately affect them until it may be too late.

In summary you have several tools to deal with nosy reporters, the original law reviewed by the Supreme Court on the Pentagon Papers, the new Patriot Act's National Security Letters (NSL), the pending outcome of the AIPAC spy trial and the existing NSA domestic phone monitoring database you collected since the 9/11.

Mr. President,
As you tap our phones and monitors everyone we call, your administration keeps more information about their decisions well hidden from the public view. You have even reclassified previously unclassified documents from the National Archives.

One example of the hubris of your administration involves a 2003 executive order you issued which require all 80 agencies to submit an annual accounting of all the documents they classified. In 2004 they classified 15.6 million document. This is twice the number reported in 2001. The goal now seems to classify more documents every year.

Somehow I seriously doubt all 15.6 million documents involve national security. And I really doubt information which was previously archived for 30 years could be a real threat either. The archived information however may hold many politically embarrassing issues. That is a more likely scenario for your motivation; to hide what you and your neo cons have been doing going back to the Reagan years.

We don't have to look very far or very often at your decision making to see how you make decisions. Your presidency has consistently made choices based on political ideology rather than be guided by the general welfare of our nation.

You even invoke the secrecy card when courts are used to judge the legality of your actions!

Last week the Justice Department invoked the once rarely cited state secrets privilege to argue that a lawsuit alleging government wrongdoing should be dismissed without even an airing of the charges, regarding the case of a German citizen who was wrongfully imprisoned by the CIA.

The Department of Justice also recently filed a motion to dismiss a class-action lawsuit against AT&T's collaboration with the NSA's massive and illegal program to wiretap and data-mine Americans' communications, citing possible damage from the litigation to national security.

So the bottom line is you can do what you want whenever you want and if we want to see whether you are violating the law you can claim the judgement process may affect national security and squash any inquiry. So tell me again how great our democracy is if we operate more like Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, or Communist China?

Your speech before the nation was hardly worth preempting the regularly scheduled broadcasts junior The nation has turned their back to you. Your phony notes of empathy and your tightrope walk to keep conservatives happy while trying to pander to Mexican Americans makes neither group real happy, so why did you bother? Perhaps the best reason was to change the focus of weekly presidential scandals and your criminal activities.

Since 2001, you issued 'signing statements' on more than 750 new laws, declaring that you have the power to ignore any laws if you decide if it conflicts with your interpretation of the Constitution.

So far your view of the constitution has allowed you to:
torture people.
hold them without charging them with any crimes.
extradite people to countries where they can be tortured.
hold Americans without charging them any crime and deny them access to a lawyer.
violate the 1st amendment if you alone decide it is in the nation's security.
spy on Americans without any judicial or congressional oversight.
Ignore any law Congress passes if you alone think it is in the national interest
keep any and all decisions from the public and severely limiting the "sunshine laws" of our country making our government about as transparent as Russia and China.
violate the 4th amendment since 9/11 and track American phone calls without any warrants.

That is not a good track record for someone who placed their hand on the Bible and swore to uphold the Constitution. When William Rehnquist, Chief Justice administered the oath of office he did not say "do you promise to uphold the laws within the constitution you feel like supporting." You swore to uphold the constitution ... period.

It is important to note that even with your executive order for all government agencies to submit the number of documents they classified, Cheney refuses to even submit how many documents he has classified, claiming executive privilege.

Cheney is a real piece of work.

He may be lying, conniving, devious, malignant, and a criminal neo-conservative but he is not stupid. So why did he recently chastise Russia's democratic efforts so publically while embracing a brutal dictator in Russia's back yard, in the same speech?

My theory is that he wants to assure Russia's negative reaction to supporting a U.S. supported effort at the UN to sanction Iran.

It looks as though he wanted to hedge his bet that Russia would NOT support the sanctions. So he bitched Russia out even if it meant starting a second cold war.

Why?

This way you.can claim; you tried to go through the UN to rein in Iran's nuclear power program. And therefore justify other means of removing a dangerous mad man who posed a serious nuclear threat in the Mideast. He wants a license to bomb Iran.

Incidentally, junior your little speech may have placated a few of your conservative critics but it also gave a real lift to the left leaning candidate for President in Mexico. Vincente Fox's party candidate will get tared for Fox's inability to secure a guest program. The ex-mayor of Mexico City, left-leaning Lopez Obrador had been running second after refusing to participate in a live debate with the other presidential candidates. But now thanks to you he will surge in the polls.

Nice going junior. We need a left leaning country at our border as much as we need another war, or as much as two more years of your dictatorship.

Another week another policy disaster
Another week another presidential lie is uncovered
Another week another country turns against us.

One wonders just how ambitious and intricate was your agenda that reporters can frequently shine light on so many unsavory and illegal elements of your policies?

You couldn't do this by yourself. It takes many people of questionable character to recommend, fine tune and carry out so many unlawful courses of action.

If it were just one rotten apple it would be easy, but your whole administration and many influential republican party members are involved.

That explains why so many republicans in and out of office have been indicted, jailed or are under investigation.
People of questionable character can't turn their behavior on and off you know.

When you started your run for office, you needed many people who believed 'the means justify the ends " to get you elected. You found many loyal supporters but many of them ignored the normal tenants of laws to get things done. You rewarded these loyal people of questionable character with plum government positions of power and influence. They were perfect for implementing your questionable semi-legal policies.

I can almost imagine the feeling they all had after assuming those powerful positions within your government. The kink in your plan was not considering the personality flaws that brought them into your campaign. It's like assigning addicts to watch over a truckload load of drugs.

They couldn't help themselves. They flaunted any law that got in their way to satisfy their thirst for more power and more money.
Their rampage and distrust of established modes of government operation fueled by your program of dismantling government check, and balances must have emboldened them to become even greedier.

After a while their reckless behavior was so obvious the FBI could not help find them. They practically glowed in the dark.

All you have left between now, and the end of your presidency is a weekly drumming of your failure in Iraq, more presidential lies uncovered, higher cost of living, poorer living standards, more news of corrupt Republican lawmakers, and multiple foreign policy failures.

Speaking of failures, Verizon AT&T and Bell South surely got a black eye by associating with you. It is not surprising Verizon was sued today for $5 billion after violating privacy laws for turning over phone records to the NSA.

Ever since the story about your authorized tracking of millions of American's phone calls for several years, hit the airwaves, there has been a mixed reaction. Some people actually think its OK. Other's believe you are the alter-ego of Stalin. Non-the-less you apparently broke another law; whether the people care about their privacy or not doesn't matter. Some people may not care if I run a red light, but the cop who sees me do it, will still gives me a ticket.

I thought you learned something about privacy laws after we learned you collected all that airline passenger data back in 2003 for your secret CAPS II program. You claimed it was to identify potential terrorists by using the data to rate risk levels of each passenger as red, yellow, or green.

All the airline datum was given to NASA for analysis. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) stated the NASA used "data mining" to determine passenger risk levels. The Electronic Privacy group and other privacy activists have argued for years that this was illegaly retreived back then.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) also asked the airlines for passenger data to model passenger contamination if there is a SARS, dengue fever or bird flu pandemic.

Both efforts appear to be nobel efforts, but the data you requested is more than just your name. And there is no mention about how long you would keep the information.

You asked for names address, emergency contacts, social security numbers, hotel, car, airline, cruises reservations, and credit cards used. You asked all airline carriers to supply you with up to 60 data items per passenger.

The European Union had a problem with your request. According to European privacy laws, they are allowed to gather only 19 data items per passenger. The EU finally relented on May 2004 to agree to 34 Passenger Name Record (PNR) data elements. The arrangement is good for three and a half years.
Many people see no reason to surrender so much data to anyone for any reason. So you, Bell South and AT&T should prepare for many law suites. I doubt that any court cases get anywhere until the Democrats take one of the houses. Until then you will stick to your favorite get-out-of-investigation card, claiming it is a national security issue.

You better get Karl Rove to write down all the dirty tricks he can think of for the November elections. I understand he will be indicted for lying to the grand jury. But, nothing says you can't still hire him as a consultant. What are people going to say? It's not as though you are running for office.
If you lose any of the houses in November, its hello non-stop independent investigations on NSA domestic spying, Iraq war, Guantanimo, Extraordinary renditions, etc. etc.

Those leaks you ordered Goss to stop keep going to courageous reporters who are not afraid to write about highly questionable agency activities. There are obviously many people within the CIA who have been pushed to the point where they feel the need to blow the whistle on you.

So, today, Americans across the country learned that you have been monitoring all their home phone calls, cell phone calls, internet surfing and video, between family members, employees, business contacts, neighbors, and everyone else. We also learned the data comprises the world's largest database at the NSA.

This NSA domestic spying program collects information on ordinary Americans not just crime suspects or potential al queda members.
Three major telecommunications companies agreed to work with you. This huge NSA database is potentially available to other government agencies such as Medicare, Social Security, the Treasury department, FBI, CIA, and DEA. And who says it would stop there. What keeps you from reselling the information to private interests such as insurance companies; your ethics?

You told us you only monitored calls originating either from inside or outside the country to catch terrorists. You lied junior. You lied again.
The article states that the NSA has sophisticated software programs to figure out the communications habits of millions of Americans. They say none of our names; street addresses and other personal information are not being handed over as part of NSA's domestic program.

Even if I were naive enough to believe you; the phone numbers you collect can surely be cross-checked against information from other easily available databases; to get every bit of computerized information anyone has ever entered about us.

You say the "NSA takes its legal responsibility seriously and operates within the law?

Paul Butler, a former U.S. prosecutor who specialized in terrorism crimes, said, "FISA approval generally isn't necessary for government data-mining operations. FISA does not prohibit the government from doing data mining," said Butler.

Many telecom lawyers consider this data collection illegal.

Under Section 222 of the Communications Act, passed in 1934, telephone companies are forbidden from distributing information regarding their customers' calling habits.

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU? Can't you do anything lawfully?

Out of all the major telecommunications companies, only Quest refused to comply with the NSA. AT&T Bell South and Verizon all caved in to your requests; they were obviously paid for their efforts. I am sure promises of future juicy government contracts were also dangled before them.

After Quest turned you down the first time, you played the "patriot card" and said Qwest's refusal could compromise national security.
Though you attempted to bully Quest, they remained skiddish about possibly breaking the law.

Quest stated they were ready to cooperate if the NSA took their proposal to the FISA court, but the agency refused because FISA might not agree with them? What were they afraid of? How legal could the program be if they feared to use the FISA courts?

I can still remember when our phone company was considered one of the most reliable, trustworthy companies we had in America. There was good reason why everyone called the phone company "Ma Bell"; we believed in her. She was mom.

As we fast forward the tape to today. Several baby bells and other competitors took over after the AT&T breakup. Through mergers and acquisitions, the Baby bells have evolved back into a small number of telecoms.

Today's news will be a rude awakening to many Americans who remember Ma Bell. With the exception of Quest Communications, Ma Bell has changed. She is no longer that warm fuzzy company that we took comfort in; she is a bitch who sold us out and became an NSA whore, who considers their customers' privacy just another asset to sell for the right price.

According to "Save, the Children" report the survival rate of newborn children in the United States is 4.7 newborns per thousand. This puts the U.S. at the bottom among industrialized nations and slightly better than Latvia.

Here is another record you can tack onto your biography, and it’s just the latest indicator of your ineptness and failure to protect the American people.

How can this be? This high death rate of infants seems to be in direct opposition to your pro-life agenda. But, as we know you are not really pro-life; you are pro-birth. If you were pro-life, you would have asked about the sentencing of the death-row inmates you killed in Texas. And you wouldn't have invaded Iraq on made-to-fit arguments for doing so. You just fight to assure pregnant girls have the child and leave the rest to someone else to worry about.

Your allegedly pro-life platform served you well with conservatives and Bible-thumpers. You have done everything you could to discourage contraception and abortions. Many states emboldened by your stand, have placed many hurdles in front of any woman who wants an abortion.

You and other republican jesus freaks are responsible for so many women, especially women without money and opportunity, to be systematically pressured into having babies after they become pregnant.

Consider that figure of 4.7 dead newborns per thousand. Women with money, health care access to prenatal care and medication has significantly improved odds of having healthy babies. So there has to be a huge number of poor women having babies out there to offset the lower numbers of women with health care having children.

You don't provide basic primary health care services, and you prohibit their access to abortions as well. This year you also slashed the budget for child health care programs as well. You only asked for $323 million on maternal and child health programs, less than the $356 million that Congress appropriated last year.

About half, a million U.S. babies are born prematurely each year. African-American babies are twice as likely as white infants, to be premature, to have a low birth weight, and to die at birth.

Levitt looked at all the data from the era and came to do some very interesting conclusions. Although the reduction of crime was partly resulting from more prisons and more police presence the main reason for the sharp reduction of crime was the availability of abortions to women.

The women who felt they couldn't care for a child didn't have them. And studies showed unwanted children are at high risk to become criminals. So having abortions available to women reduced the crime rate because children were not born to women in impoverished environments, who didn't want them.

You are not the only one living in a bubble. Many republicans and Democrats live in their own sheltered world as well. Republicans are especially prone to believing that if the country's business interests are satisfied everything else will sort itself out somehow.

Lets admit it, pure capitalism at its best, does not address the needs of our country, but neither does pure socialism. The right answer seems to be somewhere between; a thriving business environment with a conscious for the people they hire, their neighbors and the people they serve.

Call me an idealist but we should invest in companies that invest in America that support our ideals. The government should protect and serve all people not just those able to pay into the coffers of politicians.

Your huge industrial military complex is more than the root of all evil; it is the cause of our ruined democracy.
Your blind adherence to business at the cost of socially responsible government is akin to a criminal act, endangering the future safety of all Americans, because although you have emboldened the terrorists to attack our country the real danger is from within.

When Republicans like you come into office it seems the best investment strategy is in prisons, police tasers and baby coffins.

Condi tries but is it too late?

Russia is as protective of her satellite countries as a mommy bear is of her cubs. Don't get between her and her cubs, she may take it out on you and on the errant cub.

This weekend I read Cheney's anti-russian comments at a conference in Lithuania. There was a quick and angry reaction by Russia. Some people have compared Cheney's comments to Winston Churchill's famous "Iron Curtain" speech. It shows just how much the distrust has grown between you and Pooty Poot.

I haven't seen a more dissaterous performance of a nation's leader since Nikita Khrushchev took his shoe off and banged it on a UN table back in the sixties; when he called the leader of the Phillipine delegation, “a jerk, a stooge, and a lackey of imperialism.” Afterwards he was given the nickname “Hurricane Nikita.”

Last Thursday Vice-president Cheney decided to criticized Russia for backtracking on 'democracy,' and told them to quit using their energy resources to blackmail other nations. "In many areas of civil society -- from religion and the news media, to advocacy groups and political parties-- the government has unfairly and improperly restricted the rights of the people," Cheney said.

Here's a thought; Russia doesn't need you; save the theatrics for the November elections.

Obviously, Cheney is no diplomat, It was Condi who tried to unruffle the Russian feathers.

This last Saturday, a State Department spokeswoman, Amanda Rogers-Harper said Rice and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov spoke on the telephone about "several issues regarding the quartet of Middle East mediators and Iran," as well as Monday's meeting of the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council on Iran."

There is no doubt Cheney's remarks were foremost in everyone's mind during that phone conversation.

This is the second time in two weeks that she had to use some states-personship to diffuse a situation involving your boy’s junior.

She had to calm down a tense question-and-answer session after Rummy and Condi both sneaked into in Iraq on Thursday April 27th. Rummy was bluntly asked "What the intense secrecy and security surrounding their visit to Iraq signified about the stability of the country three years after the U.S. -led invasion?" Rummy began to snap at the reporter when Condi broke in; "The security situation will continue to take our attention and the attention of the Iraqis," she said, adding that "the terrorists are ultimately going to be defeated by a political process here." Condi said.

It's a shame really because she just started acting like a Secretary of State.

On Friday may 5, 2005, Condi granted an immigration law waiver so that many of the 9,300 Burmese refugees at a camp in Thailand can resettle in the United States.

This was not an easy thing for her to get done. There were months of arguing with Justice and Homeland Security over combating terrorism and deciding who have a legitimate claim to asylum.

This may be her finest work as Secretary of State, it's a shame more people didn't notice it.

I am sure she understands just like Powell its two against one. Cheney and Rummy make policy as they go along without consulting Condi. Rummy has even made inroads in assuming some State department responsibilities.

But just like Powell soon realized when he was Secretary of State, she is sucking the hind teat.

If she wanted to get back at Cheney she could spread around Cheney's new nickname. in honor of the Khrushchev incident, as "Hurricane Cheney," the big sucking blowhard who started the second Cold War."

Feith has been in trouble with the FBI in 1982 when he was suspected of passing U.S. government secrets to Israel. But, this time you and Cheney provided him with whatever clearance he needed to review everything the CIA had; and you got your war.

Feith and the Office of Spcial Plans (OSP) must have inspired Rummy to set up his own spy agency outside the CIA.

Washington whispers
Goss's quitting the CIA so suddenly started many tongues wagging in Washington and many talking heads on TV. You had a wonderful weekend ready up with Kennedy admitting he had a drug problem when all of a sudden wham, you get this dumped on your lap.

Why the CIA?
Why is the CIA so screwed up? I will examine a few points with you which might answer that question.

After you invaded Iraq and failed to find WMD's you claimed it was bad intelligence, inferring the CIA provided you with bad information. In real life, the only information you used was what Doug Feith's group (OSP) provided you. The CIA agents and analysts get pissed off everytime they hear that shit because they told you several times Iraq didn't have shit for weapons.

After that you created a new agency, the Department of National Intelligence (DNI) headed up by John Negroponte to act as a go-between the CIA and your office. The CIA director no longer provides you with daily Presidential Briefs; they come from Negroponte now. That was another blow to the agency's ego.

Negroponte the torturer
Incidentally, Negroponte is a real sweetheart; as ambassador to Honduras during the Ronald Reagan years, he played a key role in US aid to the Contra death squads in Nicaragua and supporting the brutal military dictatorship of General Gustavo Alvarez Martínez in the Honduras. He made sure the brutal dictatorship, which was responsible for the deaths of thousands of Bolivians, had plenty of money to do it with. You amount of money you gave them jumped from $3,9 million in 1980 to $77.4 million in 1994. It’s not a new tactic; you used money to buy coalition partners in your Iraq war.

According to the New York Times, Negroponte was responsible for "carrying out the covert strategy of the Reagan administration to crush the Sandinistas government in Nicaragua."

Negroponte supervised the creation of the El Aguacate air base where US trained Nicaraguan Contras used it detaining and torture prisoners during the 1980s. (http://www.rtfcam.org/report/volume_19/No_4/article4.htm)

This guy had all the experience you needed to torture and kill Iraqis in Iraq and in Guiantanimo. He is also well experienced at covering his tracks if there is an investigation later on.

He got away with it during Reagan's Iran-Contra affair. Negroponte is deadly competent. He is complicent to mass murder and just the kind of guy that could be tried in an international court of justice.

Goss quits.
So all of a sudden Goss decides to quit. My guess is one of two reasons Goss quit because he resisted Rummy's alternative spy agency and, or he was linked to a sexy scandal linked to Duke Cunningham. Goss was a good bush soldier and hatchet man.He worked hard to clean out anyone who didn't support your views and to stop the press leaks.

Many CIA veterans quit
Many high level CIA veterans quit after Goss started to implement his vision of the agency. They include acting director, John E. McLaughlin, A. B. Krongard, the executive director, Stephen R. Kappes and Michael Sulick, who held the top two posts in the directorate of operations, which ran the spys around the world.

This doesn't concern you. You see no real value in the agency if Rummy can set up his team to chase terrorists down; you actually wish all of them would quit so there wouldn't be anyone to leak information to the press and you thnk they hate you.

Foggo connection
Many people are saying Goss quit because of a recent investigation regarding Kyle Foggo a midlevel CIA agency official and Brent R. Wilkes, a military contractor connected to the bribery scandle of convicted Republican Congressman Randy Cunningham. It's a juicy story involving hookers money and the CIA. Rumor has it that Foggo will quit next week.

McCarthy lie detector test
It could also have been Goss's recent crackdown on leakers to the press. He administered polygraph tests to senior officials which led to the firing last month of Mary O. McCarthy, a veteran CIA official just before she was to retire. Goss had to find a scapegoat to blame for the leaks although McCarthy had no access to the information recently leaked to the press.

But again I have to refer to the fact that you could give a damn about morale at the CIA you want the leaks to stop, and you don't care how it's done.

So if am right, Goss's departure may only be the beginning of the end for the CIA as Rummy takes over as a spy master.

Here's the thing junior. He already proved that he can't run the war so you let him have his own spy agency and allow him to directly interact with countries?

If you have crowned yourself as our King is Rummy our country's first Prime Minister?

Larry Franklin, a subordinate of Douglas Feith, was convicted and sentenced to 12 years in Federal prison in 2005 for providing secret government information to an Israeli diplomat and Steven Rosen, an employee of the Israeli AIPAC lobby.

I just got a transcript of Dick Cheny's phone call to Russia's president Vlaimir Putin and I thought you should hear what he is saying about America. He may have started another cold war .Well here you decide for yourself.

"Hello Vlaimir Putin this is Dick, yea Dick Cheney listen Pooty, you need to allow your news reporters some freedom, yea freedom to report whatever they uncover in your government. In the United States we allow all the press reporters to copy down everything we tell them all the time. Junior and I support American news.

We always have our TV's in the White House tuned to an all news all American channel all the time, called FOX TV." Sometimes some reporter gets stuff they shouldn't but we have all our government workers sign a loyalty oath and randomly give them lie detector tests. That puts the fear of God in them. You say you already have that, well okay at least that's one less thing you need to worry about.

Yea, we are also toying with the idea of using the courts to say whatever the reporters uncovered was critical to national security and so reporters who disclose information will be prosecuted under our espionage laws. That'll keep those nosey bastards at bay.

Listen you wouldn't have any ex-KGB department heads looking for a job do you? We just had another one quit on us. Yea Porter Goss, he was a good politician just a lousy manager. You know the type. I should have known this was coming I hear the president tell him he was doing a "Hell of a job."

Mr. President,
Like many politicians, you talk a big game but your actions betray your true loyalties.

This time your consistent loyalty to big business is killing us junior.

The New York Times published the results of a very interesting report in the Journal of the American Medical Association that compares the relative health of Americans against Britons.

The bottom line is middle-aged to older U.S. residents have higher rates of diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, heart attacks, stroke, lung disease, and cancer than their English counterparts."

The report discovered many interesting facts. We are fatter while the Brits drink more, but the difference goes beyond that. And although different health care systems were ruled out as a main cause for our poorer health, Americans spend $5,274 a year per person while the British spends $2,164 per year.

I might have guessed wealthier, and better-educated people in both countries were much healthier than poorer and less-educated people.

I didn't expect that people with higher schooling and income levels in the U.S. had similar rates of diabetes and heart disease as those in the bottom education and income level in England.

In other words, rich and educated Americans have worse health on average than undereducated and poorer Britons.

Your health care system is killing us junior, millions of Americans can't even afford even basic services, so why don't you do something about it, simple ...money; dirty money that controls opinion.

I heard you advocate the use of Generic drugs as a way to keep health care costs down. I'm sure you remember it too.

Even your director of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Mark B. McClellan, recently said in an interview that an "ever-growing number of generics are essential to controlling the cost to the government and seniors of the new Medicare prescription drug program."

If this is true and you really believe this why are you cutting the budget to the FDA's Office of Generic Drugs, when they have a record backlog of drugs to process?

Drugs submitted by brand-name companies/ big drug companies, are approved much quicker while the easier to approve generic drugs take significantly longer.

As my Japanese professor used to say, it is a puzzlement.

Rep. Henry A. Waxman (D-Calif.), one of the sponsors of a law that made generics more easily available 20 years ago called "This huge backlog of generic applications is just unacceptable."

The Office of Generic Drugs has about 200 employees to process a backlog of almost 800 new applications, while the offices that review new drugs have more than 2,500 employees for processing about 150 applications.
It takes on average 17.5 months, to review a generic drug, while it only takes 8.5 month-review time for new brand name drugs. And generic drugs are a lot easier to review because of the already-known nature of the drug it is replacing.

The generic drug approval process has slowed significantly over the last two years. According to FDA’s fiscal year 2007 budget proposal, the average review time for generic drug applications is 17.5 months, while there is an 8.5 month average review time for new brand name drugs.

The Office of Generic Drugs has a budget of about $26 million in 2005 while the FDA Office to review new drugs has a budget of $400 million to judge and monitor new drugs.
To make matters even worse for processing generic drugs the FDA said the generics program would have to make cuts in 2006 to offset pay raises.

During recent Congressional budget hearings, Congressmen were concerned about the proposed cuts by the FDA, especially when there is a backlog of more than 800 generic drug applications.

Widespread use of generic drugs could save Americans billions of dollars.

It’s down to simple economics. The longer it takes to approve generic drugs the longer. The large drug companies can keep their original brands on the martket.

I guess if you can't kill generics outright, but you can surely slow their approval down to a standstill for your big pharmaceutical buddies.

When liar-liar-pants-on fire FDA Commissioner Lester M. Crawford was the FDA commissioner, he said the agency was approving on average one generic drug per day, calling that a sign that "the system seems to be working" and that "we are meeting our deadlines." He also said there was no need for additional staff in the generics office.

The Democrats are on to your game and on March 9, 2006, a group of 46 House members led by Congressman Frank Pallone (D-NJ) requested an increase in funding for FDA’s Office of Generic Drugs (OGD) by $15 million to address the backlog of applications.

But, there are still plenty of ways to divert money by your I-love-Bush FDA loyalists. They can shove that money into other programs besides the Generic drug approval process.

I have faith in you junior I know you will find a way to make sure generic drugs stay on hold.

On March 15, 2006, you nominated your old friend from Texas, Dr. Andrew C. von Eschenbach to head the FDA. But, Senator Clinton and other Democrats are unlikely to approve your nomination since your previous nominee Lester M. Crawford lied to Congress about the controversial over-the counter drug Plan B.

The one thing I can say about you is that you are consistent when big business is involved. We have an unwholesome and perverted loyalty to the people around you and the companies who paid your bills to get you and your buddies into office.

The cost of paying for desperately needed medications will remain artificially high until the FDA is purged of incompetents inflicted with the Bush virus. The cure may arrive this November.

Mr President,
I saw another headline that we have turned the corner in Iraq again.

I believe we heard the same headline after you landed on the carrier several years ago May 2, 2003 with a great big "Mission Accomplished Banner waving behind you.

I heard it when the insurgents were first called insurgents and you told us we would remain, and the dead-enders were on the run, after Saddam was captured claiming the insurgency would soon dissolve,

I heard it when the Iraqi government was established; I heard we turned the corner again after the elections and purple thumbed Iraqi's crowded in front of TV news cameras.

I think we have turned so many corners in fact that we have come full circle.

We still have 130,000 troops on the ground. Reporters find it so unsafe thy can't venture out without getting killed or kidnapped. Electricity and oil production is less than what it was after we invaded the country. Thousands of Iraqis died last year. 100,000 iragi's have left their homes because of sectarian fighting. It's hard to see progress in Iraq, when plane-loads of dead and injured soldiers keep flying into Dover Air Base,

"DEARBORN, Michigan (Reuters) - The U.S. military is struggling to recruit Arab-Americans for its war on terrorism some five years after September 11, with many in the community wary of U.S. foreign policy and fighting wars in the Middle East."

You were having trouble translating Arabic materials before your war; it has gotten worse.

Your knee-jerk deportation of thousands of arabs for minor immigration violations helped chase away another million or so Arab-Americans since 2001.

Your unfailing support for Israel, and repressive policy to Palestine doesn't get you any favors from the Arab community to begin with.

They are also turned off by the way you have conducted the war, and the way you treat their fellow mulims.

Suspected muslims, caught up in many sweeps in Iraq, have been held under deplorable conditions. They know many innocent civilians are routinely tortured along with real terrorists.

Many Arabs that you unceremoniously kicked out of the country left relatives here, and unless thay hated their relatives they won't help you very much.

Arabs are routinely singled out by federal and local authorities. After a while they just assume they are on some government watch list since they are consistently treated with so much suspicion.

Families that just came from mid east are unlikely to go back to those hell holes. It would take a lot to get them to go back.

Tough luck all around; your actions speak a lot louder than any recruiter's poster junior.

Mr. President,
You didn't look very happy at the White House Correspondent Dinner Saturday night dinner after Stephen Colbert finished his routine. Can't take the heat huh. It's ok when you control the humor like doing your 'nuklar' bit with your double, but Colbert was a different story, and your reaction showed you can't handle losing any control to anyone for anything for any amount of time.

You could use more of the sarcasm and wit from someone like Colbert. You need a court jester.

Court jesters have been around for centuries they poked fun at
important political figures such as kings and emperors, allowing them to laugh at themselves and therby become humanized to the people.
Jesters were used in Ancient Rome, Greece, Europe, China, and the halls of Montezuma.

These court jesters had the freedom to be openly sarcastic of the king. These guys were no dummies, they had a keen insight and very caustic wits. They got their material from the king's activities, newly issued decrees, and often mirrored what the average citizen felt about their ruler.

Jesters provided popes kings and emperors a valuable commodity; they gave laughter, entertainment, wit, and insight, which eased political tensions at court and allowed the ruler to see himself as the poor, downtrodden son of a bitch.
Even the most violent tyrants put up with their clowns and fools.

This court clown was paid handsomely for his services. He often received honors, gifts, titles, lands, and often became one of the king's inner circle.

So if they could do it why can't you? You need to laugh at yourself desperatrely; you need to come out of that bubble of self-serving yes-men and make yourself publically available to people like Colbert. How often will you find someone who has the balls to look you in the eye and lampoon you nonetheless.

Some people may say Colbert crossed the line, but imagine the guts it took to stand there in front of the most powerful people on the planet and blast their perceptons of themselves.

You may still be smarting from his comments, but you have to admit that man has balls. Many kings, emperors, and popes would have offered him a job right on the spot for his continued presence.

Somehow I don't see you doing that, I would be surprised if you don't have him, his entire family and everyone at Comedy Central investigated.

With all your issues and whale-shit approval ratings, you desperately need to make yourself look human. And I don't mean clearing brush photo-ops and using your tired bit of pretending to be a dust-baked-unschooled Texan that just doesn't fly anymore.

Your Texas accent is as tiresome as Rumy's ignorance. Change your game junior not just your spokesman and at least quit watching FOX and watch Jon Stuart and Colbert's show. You will hear what people are really saying.

Yeterday it all became clear to me. I was listing Vlamimir Putin's recent activities when I realized you are a Vladimir-wanna-be. Everything you have done now makes sense.

You realized you couldn't own any oil companies but you could sure curry their favor with a number of goodies such as:

allowing them to participate in closed door energy policy meetings with Cheney.

removing dividend taxes on their portfolios.

providing a series of very favorable tax cuts for their executives.

allowing them to drill on federal without any pressure to pay any land-use fees.

removing their estate taxes for their children.

providing them with billions of dollars in incentives.

Putin has an iron fisted control of the Kremlin and the news media so you have placed bush-loyalists into key departments throughout the government such as the FDA, USDA, EPA, NASA, CDC, FBI, FCC, NSA, CIA, and Homeland Security.

To deal with the news media you have instilled many new guidelines including lie detector tests, loyalty oaths, of government workers. You also placed news journalists in jail, convited whistle blowers and severly limited access to journalists without serious consequences.

The Russian president has also limited the freedoms of the people in Russia. So you:

have eliminated the Geneva convention.

refused captured suspects access to their lawyers.

held prisoners indefinately without charging them with any crime.

tortured suspects whenever you want.

kidnapped or killed people anywhere in the world.

sent suspects to foreign countries to be questioned and tortured.

reclassified thousands of once public documents as "secret."

have refused to turn over thousands of government documents using secrecy statutes.

taped thousands of domestic phones illegally.

have read American's e-mail without restraint.

have monitored internet surfing of Americans without any warrants.

refused to provide Congress with correct information on the real cost of Medicare prior to a congressional voting on the issue.

refused Congressional oversight but rather told certain Republican Senate and House leaders about some of the government activities.

viciously attacked, and sacked anyone who dared to challenge your actions; even outing covert spy Valerie Plame and undoing all her work tracking down weapons of mass destruction in the mideast, was not out of bounds to your attacks on the messengers.

refused NASA scientists to speak with newspapers without clearing the text beforehand and having a Bush loyalist in the room.

Vlaimir is not accountable to anyone else in his governemnt so it was only natural for you to issued 750 "signing statements," which negated all the laws Congress passed during your term in office, declaring that you have the power to set aside the laws when they conflict with your legal interpretation of the Constitution.

The attack on 9/11 was the best thing that could have happened while you were in office, because you have used it to justify everything you needed to crown yourself the first American emperor, a mirror image of Vladimir Putin, the Russia emperor.

It seems like Russia did not really lose the cold war after all.
They quit their arms race for a while and dumped the more obvious forms of communism. But over the years they have become anything but a democratic state. Natural gas and oil resources have emboldened every energy producing nation around the world such as Iran, Venezuela, and Russia.
Russia plays hardball with Yukos
Russia's Vladimir Putin used his power as president to get the ball rolling in his country.
He dismantled Yukos, the largest Russian oil company, and moved their assets to the state-owned firm Rosneft, which merged with Gazprom.

Because of Putin's manipulation, he has direct control of the world's largest integrated oil and gas company. It is bigger than even Saudi Arabia's gas and oil company. Gazprom is now the world's largest natural gas supplier.
A geopolitical chess game
Global politics is like a huge chess game. You make a move then your opponent makes a move. Each of you tries to anticipate each other's moves and has countermoves moves ready.

Your handicaps
You have several handicaps junior.
First, you are not smart enough.
Second you lost many people from counterintelligence when you put republican loyalists in key intelligence departments. These new department heads ferreted out anyone who questioned any of your policies. Hundreds of years of intelligence gathering and counterintelligence experience left government service; as a result. You can bet Putin did not purge his intelligence services. Putin is ex-KGB and knows the value of his intelligence services.
Third, your disastrous foreign policies have alienated most of the world who is suspicious of your real goals.
Fourth the neo cons you listen to, are blinded by their ideology incapable of imagination. 9/11, Iraq and Katrina are a testiment to this.
Fifth, your oil supply is more sensative to global instability than Russia's because you depend on foreign oil for 60 per cent of your needs. South America's once-friendly oil countries have turned against America. So you are forced to befriend the dictators of other oil countries although they routinely torture and kill their civilians.

Russia's advantage
Putin has a huge advantage in this geopolitical chess game. They have huge natural resources of oil and natural gas. Soaring oil prices has significantly enhanced Putin's power while you mired yourself in a huge resource-sucking war in Iraq.

Putin however has oil and has been ruthless with his energy-power and he is using it to counter any western influence he finds in his neck of the woods. He does not hesitate to use his oil and natural gas to insure the allegiance of several countries.

Your Ukraine chess move

One year after the Washington-backed "orange revolution," Ukrainian President Viktor Yushencko came into office Gazprom raised the price of natural gas to the Ukraine 450 per cent. The Ukraine refused to pay so Putin turned off the gas for a few days until they hammered out a deal.

Since Europe and the Ukraine share the same gas supply line, Europe's supply was accidentally curtailed simultaneously when the Ukraine was valved off. Boy did Europe get a wake up call!
Russia's counter move

This was another Russian move on the chess board. Consider it a shot across the bow when it comes to implement any ambitious USA foreign policy with central Asian-European states. Putin just showed you what he would do to contain your intentions.
So in this real-life chess game with Russia Putin just took the Ukraine chess piece back. They recently helped convince The Ukraine to ban US military overflights and use of its air-base.
Is it any surprise the Ukraine election dropped the "orange revolution" idea and cuddled up with Russia instead? Ukrainians like keeping warm in the winter and you can't give them that.

Russia's China move

Russia has openly defied you in dealing with Iran as well, and has even supplied them anti-missle weapons systems as well as Russian technicians to help build their nuclear power plants.
China and Russia held joint exercises in China last August. It was the only time these two armies have worked together since the Korean War. The official announcement from the nations involved said the joint exercises were aimed at quelling any terrorism and resisting any interference by a "third force." I wonder who they considered to be a likely "third force" in their war games. Hmmmm.
This year China, Russia, and four Central Asian states have met and agreed to have another "anti-terrorism" drill in Russia this time.
Russia's German move

Russia is becoming more important to Europe as the North sea oil fields slowly dry up. Gazprom recently closed a deal selling natural gas to Germany who is the largest industrial gas consumer in Western Europe.

Russia's pipeline diplomacy move

Russia has built its natural gas pipelines to contain pro-western governments, such as Poland and Japan. One pipeline will be built very close to China's border while not promising any extension of the transmission line to service Japan. Gazprom is building another pipeline around the country of Poland denying them any access to this natural gas line. My money is on China getting the natural gas and Japan will have to try to make ethanol from rice somehow.

Your faulty strategy
It is no wonder you have worked so hard to become king of the United States. You are jealous of Putin. That is why you are clamping down on news organizations, tapping phones, torturing suspects, holding people without charging them similar to Putin. You want the same powers as Putin. You are even willing to dismantle our constitution to get it.
You figure you alone can deal with Russia, China and terrorists. You believe Congress is not capable of making quick moves or make the tough decisions, so you always add a "signing statement" at the end of every bill Congress passes stating that you can do what you want despite the law.

Check
Do you ever stop and think that if Russia's goal were to destroy our democracy, you are unwittingly helping him fulfill his goal without them firing a shot?

China and Russia have figured you out completely. All you can do now is react to global situations after the fact. And since you have becoime a single dimension type of a guy, the only way you know how to react is with military force. This explains why you gave Rummy such extensive power which supercedes Condi's State department.

You put all your eggs in one basket. You gave rummy power over our nation's ambassadors, the power to insert elite troops anywhere in the world, access to domestic phone taps and the NSA internet data mining.

You put your money on the wrong horse junior and America is paying dearly for your incompetence.
